There are millions of dogs in the world, yet some humans still choose to breed dogs for monetary gain. The sad part is, some breeders don’t care about these dogs’ welfare other than producing more purebred dogs.
Some dogs live in the cruelest circumstances. There are stories about puppy mills abandoning “useless” dogs and some stories about animals in cages.
Sad as it may be, but this will never stop as long as there are buyers. The overpopulation of dogs will never cease to exist if some people will continue to shop instead of adopting.
One breeder in Costa Rica got reported for neglecting his eight poodles. These pups are kept locked up in their small cages every day. In fact, they’ve never stepped foot outside.
Luckily, Humane Society International – Latin America and SENASA immediately responded to such a report. As soon as they arrived, they could see how bad the situation was in the area.
It was apparent that these eight poodles never received love and attention since there was no fresh food or water present. Aside from this, they were filthy, and they had matted fur.
As the rescuers lifted the poodles one by one, they realized that it was most likely the very first time the dogs felt a human touch. They then placed them in their large cages and loaded them into their van.
When they arrived at the shelter, the very first thing they did was opening the cages and letting the puppies run free in their yard. Not a single soul was sad. All of them felt bliss as they ran around and played with each other.
No one can imagine how sad their lives are inside their small, filthy cages. Now, they can run around and feel the wind through their fur.
Humane Society International recently reported that they are working on giving vital care to all the pups and preparing each one of them for adoption to loving homes.
You can watch how happy these pups are as soon as they stepped on solid ground in the video below:
